Responsible for the safe operation of eleven household recycling centres, three transfer stations and two MRFs in line with company targets for efficiency and productivity. Ensure compliance with Safety Policies, the Health and Safety at Work Act, Safe Systems of Work and Working Instructions. Recommend improvements to operations to improve efficiency and increase profitability, and to prepare reports and analyses for the Divisional Director.Team Management• Responsible for three area managers and 52 staff ensuring that all staff are appropriately trained to the relevant levels to operate a public waste treatment facility.• Monitoring and managing service levels provided to our community in the recycling field.• Attending client review meetingsProject Management• Annual production of the Waste Solutions Service Review for the Wiltshire Council Contract, maintaining relationships with the key client for the Wiltshire Waste Contract. • Production of the company’s five year Waste Plan and Business Continuity Plan with annual updates for Wiltshire Waste Contract• Played an active role in the successful accreditation of all three ISO management systems for Hills Waste Solutions team • Liaison with Divisional Director on new initiatives that can help to improve customer service delivery and recycling targets for our client

Trowbridge Wiltshire

During my time with the Local Authority managed and let 5 Local Authority tendering processes from Waste Collection service to Street Cleansing contracts, including in house tender writing and evaluation. Introduced, delivered and managed the first Alternate weekly collection (AWC) scheme to 54,000 residents in West Wiltshire, negotiating contracts for the additional resources required for such a new service to the community.Negotiated the first ‘partnership’ contract in West Wiltshire for the provision and maintenance of Public Conveniences that have to date received the highest level of national awards for the design and service provision to a council.Managed and implemented the first ISO 2001 programme awarded to the Commercial Services division in West Wiltshire. Also deputised as the Emergency Planning Officer for the District Council working to Wiltshire County Council Level
