Cliff is an individual who possesses a demonstrated talent for eliciting and understanding the business drivers of a financial entity and converting them into the business and functional requirements that software development teams can utilize to build modifications or enhancements from.Cliff most recently functioned as SME for the creation of the Compliance Suite, a regulatory reporting component in his former employer’s Modern Banking platform. This component leveraged customer data from across several core deposit and lending applications to reside in a repository data base that facilitated US banking regulatory reporting for financial entities.He was also lead SME for the conversion of two legacy tax reporting and TIN certification software applications to components in a modern banking platform architecture. Cliff provided the cost estimates and other information needed for key stakeholders to justify the investment required, including pricing of other solutions. Cliff utilized his expertise on the older systems, conducted research on current market business drivers, and employed his regulatory knowledge to ensure that the new components contained the functionality and regulatory currency to produce a potentially market leading product.Cliff has a long career filled with transformational projects in his work, beginning from his service in the U.S. Air Force as a key implementer on the Worldwide Keypunch Replacement Project (WKRP) in the early 1980s, to a Project manager on a Year 2000 Ready MVS migration project in 1998 for a large scale remote outsourcing business. In 2001 he participated in a successful RFP and software assessment for China’s third largest bank, China Construction Bank, which resulted a purchase of his former company’s charter core banking software package. His most recent roles on the previously mentioned modern banking conversion projects in 2020 serve as current examples of his ability to evolve and provide high value as an IT professional in the current landscape.
