Client 1 highlights:- Worked with functional IT management to help them understand Agile and DevOps methods, how those methods work end-to-end, and how risk can be managed with those methods.- Provided core models to program leadership, for the "future state", to help the organization to move from Scrum to continuous delivery. Organization was a very large producer of machinery, using IoT technologies.- Learned their technology stack so that I would work with their architects and facilitate defining an appropriate Agile and DevOps approach. (Their stack: Embedded devices coded in C, a large volume message gateway, event processing using Azure EventHubs, HDInsights (Hadoop, Storm, Spark, HBase), and a large number of Tomcat based Web apps.)- Created a list of Agile and automation tools, based on their standards and preferences (e.g., Azure, Microsoft).- Implemented demonstration in which I ran each type of component as a container on a laptop, all at the same time, to show that local functional integration testing was possible.Client 2 highlights:- Helped to define approach for transitioning from Scrum teams to an approach that is more collaborative between development and Ops, including production support.- Created demos in which I automated some of their tests, using SpecFlow/Gherkin/C#, to show what could be done.

Supported the establishment of enterprise devops practices to be used across multiple Agilex projects. Built and deployed a performance testing system that dynamically creates and provisions test virtual machines as needed.

Agile transformation consultant and coach and technical lead of three person team set up by the CIO of the US Immigration Service, Mark Schwartz, to plan and execute organization-wide transformation Agile and DevOps transformation. Met with CIO weekly, worked with the various functional managers to discuss challenges and define new operating models, organized and conducted value stream modeling sessions with those managers, primary outcome of which was a revamped release planning process that was inclusive of all of the functions. We also defined a set of Agile practices that were adopted as the standard minimum set, for the purpose of creating a mandate to motivate change. Worked with critical project teams to help them to adopt new practices, particularly with regard to defining a testing strategy and "pipeline". Consulting analyst in various capacities, including defining enterprise agile transformation, agile coaching and teaching, developing IT business case methodology, defining system development lifecycle process, facilitating solution definition, enterprise data quality program planning and implementation, investigating root causes of dysfunction in the IT-business interface.

Forensic analysis of system architecture/design to identify problems. Oversaw remediation of those problems (reliability, security) by enhancing the core architecture. Project consisted of four team and 80 people, and transitioned from Rational Unified Process to eXtreme Programming as part of the remediation. Architecture remediation was done concurrent with functional enhancement.

Co-founded, company grew to 183 people, eighth fastest growing company in DC area. Company sold in 2006 to Command Information. As CTO, ran scalability and performance lab, worked with agile (XP) teams to identify technical risk areas. Worked with business relationship managers to define strategies and solutions for clients and client prospects.

Led small specialized teams to develop compilers and other tools for simulation languages and algorithm-to-silicon compilers. I built the first VHDL "behavioral synthesis" compiler, which accepted a behavioral algorithm (in VHDL) and generated a custom microcoded (concurrent) RTL level design (in VHDL).

System simulation, compiler development, test automation. I was on the team that developed the VHDL system design language. Wrote the first system level simulation using VHDL, to test the language's abilities for the purpose. Also helped to develop concepts for digital test languages.

Enterprise transformation. Performed an organization-wide study of how the different teams did their work, and how it could be better integrated: circuit level (analog and digital), board level, and system level, including microwave domain (active elements, waveguide surfaces and ports) and system level algorithms (Kalman filter).
