Worked on Databook, Uber's in house metadata and data catalog. Databook manages metadata for all of Uber's datasets including Hive, Cassandra, MySQL and Kafka. Developed Databook's React frontend, Go backend and supporting python/scala ETL pipelines.Drove design and implementation of Data Tiering and Categorization on Databook. This enabled Uber to triage and manage compliance efforts for hive datasets in Uber's ecosystem.Later drove design and implementation of Data K9, which allowed Uber to automatically categorize PII across all of Uber's 400k hive datasets.

Worked on application serving wholesale merchandise buyers to predict future sales, and recommend and process wholesale merchandise purchases. Originally managing products responsible for the majority of gross revenue, and later scaled up to manage 100% of the product catalogue. Originally written in React + Flux with Scala backend, later rewritten as Typescript React + Mobx with Go Backend.Worked on Spark data pipeline responsible for producing a recommended purchase amount for all active products. Achieved by ingesting sales and product metrics and implementing formulae developed by in house data science team

Worked with 3 developers and 2 designers to build a project management tool for biologists. Wrote both Angular frontend and Rails backend.Worked with the same team to build Gentle, an open source DNA editing tool for biologists. Used Backbone written in es6, with heavy use of canvas elements.Helped build deployment pipelines for both projects, which automatically deployed to staging on AWS after passing regression testing.

Built an android prototype app in three weeks, which was successfully used to secure seed investment.Worked in a team of three to develop a fleshed out mobile first web app using Backbone, with performance and aesthetics on par with native mobile application.Delivered weekly updates to production software in response to changing business goals and beta tester feedback.The application featured live client-server communication, custom integration with iOS camera utility, and full REST integration with a Rails back end.

Had complete responsibility and control over an internal content management system used by a department of over 30 people.The system coordinated product and defect information for mobile devices, and facilitated communication between Bell Mobility and major mobile vendors such as Samsung, Motorola and RIM.The service is an essential component for new product integration into the Bell cellular network, and I was responsible for ensuring smooth day to day operation, integration of new features as required by evolving business requirements, and issue resolution for both internal and external users.The system was built using Jetspeed and Salmon, and served via Apache Tomcat on a Solaris server.
