The background on my profile is the view from our house in Placitas (I took the pic while on my usual afternoon walk). It's a beautiful area and neighborhood.I'm searching for consulting or full time or project work after a few years of limited consulting, personal projects, business investment, and semi-retirement. I'm now living in New Mexico after years in the Seattle metro area.My open source software project is a C++ networking / socket library (https://connectivecpp.github.io/) that is different (and in my opinion better) than any others I've found. The project has been on hiatus for a couple of years, but I'm now back to working on it (as well as some embedded system / robotics investigation and development).I'm an investor in an aviation business named Merlin Aviation (https://www.merlinaviation.net/) based in Moriarty, NM. We offer glider rides and instruction and in the future other aviation related services.I volunteer with the US Southwest Soaring Museum (https://www.swsoaringmuseum.org/) and the Santa Fe 2926 restoration organization (https://2926.us/).If you are looking for the usual "resume / cv" info, here's a short summary: I enjoy designing low-latency (and sometimes real-time) system programming libraries and applications. Most of the infrastructures I've implemented are mission-critical and / or highly-available. They are scalable, efficient, and (in my opinion) elegant. I usually program in C++ with a smattering of Java and am currently looking at Rust and Julia. I've used many other languages including Python, C, Fortran, Prolog, and even (gasp!) Cobol.I've worked in teams both large and small. I understand the software development process and am a big proponent of testing and continuous integration.
Listed skills include C++ Language, Software Engineering, Object Oriented Design, C++, and 17 others.
