At PUC/Rio, the main activities were in an Experimental Flow Assurance project in partnership with CENPES/PETROBRAS. The project focus was on hydrate formation at high pressure, rheology characterization of complex fluids and the combined effects of paraffins, emulsion, hydrates and asphaltenes on the oil behavior.

This project was made under supervision of the Professor Richard Schrader about relative permeability in oil shales at Bakken formation, with Bakken Oil sample.

Working under Dr. Larry Lake tutoring, I was part of the Summer Undergraduate Research Internship program in the Petroleum Engineering Program at UT, Austin. There, I worked in the Petroleum Reservoir area, doing simulations with CMG and an analytical design for injection of water in wells. Also, the effect of injection vs. pressure rate changes were analyzed.

Aracaju Area, Brazil

During my experience as a researcher, I worked with the process of oil/water separation in petroleum emulsions. The experiments were realized in the presence of microwaves and ionic liquids addition. After the process, the amount of water was measured using Karl Fischer equipment.

This job required a sense of team work and how to work under pressure. There, I had to coordinate and manage 20 people, who were working in the Brazilian Census. I was assisted by two supervisors and we had to make the counting during three months. Also, some computer skills were required, once the informations were all sent from our branch to the principal sector by using computer.
