I am so happy that U.S. Bank has decided they want to take on and further develop the "Workplace Mortgage" benefits program. The concept is simple: Provide true value, discounts and mortgage education to the employees of companies. Make the entire home buying process a good clear and concise one. Why stop with medical benefits, dental benefits and the usual. Why not guidance and assistance for this tricky and important process. I was very proud to be a part of Nationstar Mortgage. I came with a team to grow and to make known the name Nationstar, and we were successful. Nationstar's decision to exit retail lending was based on its desire to stay with it's servicing and direct lending roots. We had a great run while we were there, and it was a huge bonus to learn and understand the details of how a mortgage servicer operates and what happens to your mortgage after you close on your home. A positive mortgage experience should be a solid mix of competitive loan terms, no-nonsense paperwork and most important, trustworthy guidance from experienced professionals from start to finish. This is what we accomplished while at Nationstar.

Building a retail branch from the ground up.

An opportunity to work in the mortgage industry and be a positive example. Also a chance to help people live the dream of owning a home.

Ran the retail loan origination group for Minnesota. Started from scratch with a name not know in town because Flagstar Bank was a wholesale lender that worked with mortgage professionals and not retail with the public. We were able to put Flagstar Bank on the map in Minnesota and in South Dakota. I really gained experience in all areas of mortgage branch management and additionally developed a lending environment that was educational and well respected.

Took a struggling retail branch and made it successful. I learned a great deal about being successful in a challenging and ever changing environment. It was a great learning experience.

Worked in the Bankruptcy department and from there took over the Loan Reinstatement and Payoff department, reducing losses and errors significantly. A great training ground for learning and understanding the "back end" of the mortgage business particularly foreclosures and REO business.
