I am a civil litigation attorney with criminal defense experience, at Dycio & Biggs, assisting clients in both English and Spanish. I enjoy helping people who have come here looking for the American dream and who may need some extra help understanding how our legal system functions. I am passionate about giving back to the community and won the Lewis F. Powell Pro Bono Award from the Virginia State Bar in 2020 for my work with transgender people needing name and gender marker changes.I graduated with both a Juris Doctor and LLM in Advocacy from American University, am licensed to practice law in Virginia, Maryland, and DC. I have also been published on the topics of money laundering in the field of legalized marijuana, immigration consequences of criminal charges, and 504 Plans to protect youth with disabilities.I have a diverse background which spans everything from nearly 15 years in real estate closings (both in the title and mortgage industries), to over 5 years in criminal and immigration work, to being a volunteer organizer for grassroots state, local and national campaigns for nearly two decades. I've been on the board of directors of numerous local non-profits and school organizations, currently serving on the board of Equality Virginia. I have also taught CLEs to attorneys on DEI topics.
