Dr Clifford Stuckey achieved a BSc (Hon’s) at Silsoe campus, Cranfield University in Environmental Management and went on to gain a PhD from the University of Liverpool in Applied Ecology specialising in habitat conservation, restoration and re-creation. Much of the research leading to his PhD was undertaken at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology at Monks Wood with experimental plots at RSPB Minsmere, on the Chiltern Hills at Pegsdon and on the Dorset heathland where pioneering work was undertaken to find novel approaches to the problem of restoring lowland heath and chalk downland on former agricultural fields.
