Assistant Project ScientistUniversity Of California, Riverside Oct 2016 - PresentExperimental condensed matter physicist developing nano-devices for Majorana zero modes.- Served as manager of the research team's He3 cryostat. Coded and tested LabView programs to automate cryostat control and data collection.- Coded Python scripts for data visualization. - As the first student to join the team and help setup the lab, I served as a mentor to other incoming graduate students, teaching them how to operate equipment and bringing them up to speed on the research.- Collaborated with other students in maintaining research team's MBE system. - Designed and tested cryogenic electronic filter boards for DC transport measurements. - Collaborated with other graduate students in designing and constructing a custom liquid He dipping probe for rapid DC transport measurements.- Liaised with a separate research team to maintain a joint Helium recovery system.- Fabricated and measured DC transport of nano-wire tunnel junctions and point contact junctions to research proximity-induced superconductivity for applications towards Majorana zero modes.- Designed and utilized e-beam evaporation shadow masks for rapid nano-wire tunnel junction fabrication.- Developed molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) deposition procedures for epitaxial superconducting Nb and Au films on sapphire. Characterized films using RHEED and AFM.- Developed MBE growth procedure for epitaxial NbSe2 thin films. Characterized films using DC transport, XRD, and Raman spectroscopy. - Developed and characterized sapphire substrate cleaning procedures.PresentationsProximity induced superconductivity in epitaxial Nb/Au(111) bilayersAPS March Meeting 2021https://meetings.aps.org/Meeting/MAR21/Session/A52.5Superconductivity in few-layer NbSe2 grown by molecular beam epitaxyAPS March Meeting 2019https://meetings.aps.org/Meeting/MAR19/Session/P09.3 -

National Security InternPacific Northwest National Laboratory May 2014 - May 2016- Coded and tested a Python-based program to interface an EMCCD camera and GPS time server with commercial telescope control software to image low-orbit space debris. - Served as the primary LabView programmer for the LAARS uranium enrichment analyzer project, interfacing multiple devices such as a laser controller,a mass flow controller, data acquisition cards, and shutters. - Worked with other researchers to develop data analysis tools in LabView for categorizing laser-ablation waveforms. - Organized and managed all documentation for the LAARS project including equipment manuals, machine drawing, electronic schematics, and software guides. -
Segre InternUc Berkeley Jun 2013 - Aug 2013- Collaborated with other interns to upgrade experiments used in the upper-division physics lab course. - Experiments worked on include:1. Aligning optics in atom trapping experiment.2. Rewriting old LabView code in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiment.3. Testing electronics in non-linear dynamics experiment.
