Horticultural Therapist
CurrentHomewood Ravensview is a private 75-bed mental health, trauma and addiction facility offering evidence-based, medically-led, inpatient services for first responders, military, veterans, executives & professionals, adults, and young adults. Horticultural therapy promotes health and well-being using gardening and horticulture related activities. Horticultural Therapists work within the scope of their practice as defined by the Canadian Horticultural Therapy Association. As the Horticultural Therapist at Homewood Ravensview, I am part of an expressive therapies team that includes recreation therapy, horticultural therapy, art therapy, music therapy, and Indigenous cultural awareness. I use best practice guidelines, and therapeutic competencies in supporting the client’s assessed needs and/or strengths in the emotional, cognitive, physical, social, and spiritual domains.
