As Senior Project Manager, I proactively and passionately oversaw multiple complex, maintenance projects, and large construction projects. I oversaw up to 10 project managers and 18 projects. I communicated effectively with Inspectors, Project Managers, Contractors, Local Government Officials, and Consultants to develop and maintain working relationships to gain their support of the construction projects I managed. I helped manage PM/inspectors schedules assigned to construction projects thus ensuring roads, highways, and related highway structures are built according to plans and specifications. Due to my maintenance and construction experience, I am very proficient at reading contract documents to determine what is required by contract. I also developed relationships between TXDOT and local governments, mentored inspectors in the field discussing job-site safety, documentation, testing activities, and to help anticipate contractor activities, motives, and strategies. I applied my past private contractor field experience for monitoring project phasing, traffic control plans, change order review, and contractor tendencies for proactive communication with contractors. I reviewed contract documentation for accuracy and consistency. Reviewed contractor schedules. Through the role of North Travis Local Government Project Procedure liason, I deepened my knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles), contract negotiations, understanding of management methods, and learned various Local Government’s contract administration/management systems, record-keeping, and monitoring of contracts to ensure the LG was following FHWA requirements through the LGPP. As Senior Project Manager, I assisted design staff in plan reviews and processing change orders.
