My career has been driven by 3 passions. To Build:I have often been told that I should have been in sales. I reply with, I am in sales but I use that skill to "sell" ideas. Seeing ideas become reality is a high that I can't live without. Watching the fruits of labor become a tool in a stranger's hand is why I love my job. The feeling one gets from bringing a team together to create an ASIC through all the many ups and downs of a project and coming out the other side with first silicon success is what keeps me coming to work everyday.To Learn:I need to understand the context before I can confidently make decisions. You have to understand the rules and comfortably execute within them before you can innovate and improve a system. While that luxury is not always provided, I always look for more information to fill in the gaps. When working on new R&D projects that have complex interactions with packaging and process in new and emerging markets these why and how questions have generally spurred great interractions and will often lead to new and innovative ideas. To Lead:I love growing and leading high energy design teams to complete difficult projects on-time and error-free. Being able to maintain an engaging and supportive work environment has been the most important part of achieving that goal. I enjoy the balance of listening to my team to find what barriers they need removed and the more active role of stewarding their career goals and teaching new skills or the intracacies of how their role fits into the bigger picture.
