Fluffy Chicken was founded to develop and market a simple assistive device for teachers with special-needs students, specifically non-verbal students, to help with communication. The device ran on Android tablets, using React Native, generated by Parenscript, with Common Lisp running the backend. The backend was hosted on Amazon AWS, and used Amazon Polly, S3, CouchDB on FreeBSD AMIs.

Systems and Application development for both web and desktop solutions, including: - Tools for several automotive e-commerce sites for modifying and managing inventory, price changes, etc. written in Common Lisp. - A tool for exposing dynamic part links to Google for search engine optimization. - A desktop application written using Common Lisp, Electron for automatically listing advertisements on posting services such as Craigslist. - A distributed desktop application written using Common Lisp and Electron for crawling our own parts listings that checks for broken links, broken images, etc.We used RabbitMQ for queue management and Amazon EC2 for the server infrastructure. - A web-based tool for Twitch.tv streamers which aggregates audience interaction in real time providing usage statistics, participation graphing, and follower analytics in Common Lisp, and using Amazon EC2. - An H.323, SIP, RTCP, and VoIP compliant phone router for bridging disparate phone and voice services such as Vonage, Skype, Slack, and Discourse, providing conference calling and, where supported, multimedia sharing in Haskell and Erlang.

Designed and implemented a complete, end-to-end solution for e-commerce sales. - Customer facing shopping site using HTML, CSS, Javascript, Ajax, and responsive mobile-compatible design using Parenscript, Bootstrap, JQuery, and Underscore.js. - Backend inventory tracking, customer engagement analytics, pre-purchase alerts, and inventory alerts in Common Lisp. - Created a full Cocoa Touch application that allowed management to edit inventory, apply discounts, enable and disable coupon codes, as well as respond to alerts regarding our inventory. - Wrote a separate application to synchronize inventory and pricing across our eBay, Amazon, Shopify, and BigCommerce presence, written in Common Lisp.

Haskell programmer for this kickstarter.com funded startup. Developed a sensor and data collection daemon that ran on Arduino ARM machines. This collected data was then sent in real time to a central analytics server, all written in Haskell.

DevOps Engineer for this startup in San Francisco. Created and maintained services and tools for other developers. Managed and developed build and deployment automation, systems and network monitoring, including automating the creation of sandbox virtual machines with tools written in Haskell.

Co-founder of this startup. Delivered a Cocoa application for Mac OS X written in Haskell using a thin type translation library between Objective-C and Haskell. This program is currently in use in over 10,000 retail stores nation-wide.

These clusters usually consisted of 6 front-end Ruby on Rails application servers, 4 MySQL servers in a 3x master configuration, and 1 Memcache server. In addition to this, I was responsible for network services and hardware including the Communigate Pro email server, Postini spam filtering, F5 and Barracuda load balancers, and Cisco routers.

Wrote an internal billing and provisioning interface in Ruby on Rails. Provisioning system not only tracked resources such as IP addresses, Virtuoso instances, and physical servers, but also included a system for automatically scaling sites under extreme load.

Designed and implemented a customer-facing web site for a real estate company. The front end was Ruby on Rails, and the backend was written in Erlang. The site provided realtime updates to properties and pulled Multiple Listings Service data from several providers.
