Twenty Six years of Naval Construction Force work around the globe taught me many facets of construction. It also built a lot of competence and confidence in areas outside of construction.Everything from becoming a High Voltage Lineman (back when we performed hot work on 12,470 Volt systems), Power Plant Operations, MUSE Operations, Interior Wiring and so on to developing into a Convoy Commander. As I advanced through the ranks Construction Management and Personnel Supervision became my forte. All of these challenges and many more made the well seasoned Leader that I am today.Quality People (and I had many through the years) and Quality work are what I strive to work with. Being a First Class Petty Officer (Front Line Supervisor) for five years and proudly wearing the Navy Chief Petty Officer Anchor (the Backbone of the Navy) for 12 years allowed me to develop into an exceptional Manager and Supervisor.My tour with Naval Support Unit, State Department and ultimate assignment as the Chief in Charge of the Southeastern European Region (US Embassy Athens, Greece) provided me a much needed look into the Civilian Sector and working in that atmosphere greatly assisted in learning tact and an appreciation for how different things can be in the civilian world.Having been Retired from the Navy now going on two years I've had the luxury of exploring job options. I currently have an excellent job as a Diesel Locomotive Electrician that offers great training and a broad scope of electrical work and troubleshooting challenges. I enjoy the challenge and the opportunity to learn various systems. My ideal job would be as an Inspector. Whether it be in Construction or possibly the FRA but I adapt quickly and am open to a multitude of career options.
