As a respected leader and golf professional, I was honored to be tabbed to guide the Men’s and Women’s Golf program at Truett McConnell University. With the program being well established, there were high expectations for guiding 30 plus collegiate athletes and advancing the program through recruiting, fundraising, and coaching. Although it was an interim role that coincided with my other leadership duties in the golf industry, we were able to excel in the classroom and on the golf course. By identifying strong leaders within the teams and building belief in our system, we achieved successes and attained goals not previously reached before. At the end of my tenure the program was passed on to the permanent coach in a very healthy state, with new practice facilities in progress and opportunities afforded by fundraising and relationships built in the time I spent there. It remains a highlight of my career even though it was only a small part of my resume.
