Worked for Salt Lake County Fire Department/Unified Fire Authority from January 1996 to September 2016, working my way up through the ranks to the position of Battalion Chief at the time of my departure.• I began my career with Salt Lake County Fire Department/Unified Fire Authority on January 1, 1996 as an entry-level firefighter.• Graduated from Salt Lake County Fire’s Paramedic School in June 1998 and remain a Utah State certified Paramedic today. • Spent 2 ½ years working in the Fire Prevention Bureau from 2000 to 2002 including prevention responsibilities at the Olympic Oval in Kearns during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.• Promoted to Captain in March 2006 and was assigned a month later as Captain on the Hazardous Material Team in Kearns where I worked for the next 3 years.• In 2009 I was asked by Chief Berry to accept the assignment as his Chief’s Adjutant and department Public Information Officer where I worked until July of 2010 when I was promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief.• As a Battalion Chief my assignments have included CSEPP Program Manager for 1 year, 5 years as an Operations Battalion Chief assigned to Battalion 12 responsible for 7 stations in the municipalities of Riverton, Herriman, and Eagle Mountain. • In March of 2016 I was asked to assume the responsibilities as EMS Bureau Chief for UFA overseeing all medical training and certification aspects of the department.
