Commanding Officer for an organization of 800 Soldiers and over $80 million of equipment and infrastructure. Responsible for ensuring the worldwide deployment and combat readiness of the battalion through the development and execution of rigorous training, maintenance, and Soldier support programs; for maintaining the high state of physical fitness, discipline, trust, morale, and esprit essential to mission accomplishment; and for managing resources to accomplish the aforementioned tasks. Planned and allocated resources to maintain operational readiness. Developed policies, procedures and systems to care for Soldiers, their Families, and facilitate mission execution, and achieve positive outcomes in defense of our Nation.Achieved: Evaluated top 1% officer and top 2 of 30 battalion commanders conducting combat operations in Afghanistan. Reorganized the battalion to deploy eight combat advisor teams across northeast Afghanistan, before doctrine was developed to inform this mission. Designed an operational framework that increased readiness and training opportunities for the Afghan National Army, while reducing the number of forces committed to fixed site security, increasing their offensive capability.

Responsible for the morale, welfare, discipline, and professional development of assigned personnel. Responsible for creating a cohesive environment that cares for Soldiers and their Families. Ensures that the company’s administrative, logistical, and personnel management needs are met. Provides a command climate that encourages candor and initiative. Maintained 23 M2A2 Bradley Fighting Vehicles, 4 x M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicles, 6 Stryker Combat Vehicles, and organizational and installation property worth over $52 million.Achieved: Evaluated #1 Captain in the brigade. Commander of an Air Assault Company with an authorized strength of 132 Soldiers. Responsible for the command, control, training, and employment of the company. Prepares the company for worldwide deployment within 36 hours of notification in support of national objectives. Responsible for a high state of combat readiness through the development and implementation of demanding and comprehensive training, physical fitness, maintenance and Soldier support programs. Also responsible for maintaining the high state of discipline, morale and esprit that is essential to mission accomplishment. Coordinates for all combat multipliers on the battlefield including close air support, attack aviation, naval gunfire, and all indirect fire assets. Provides a command climate that encourages candor and initiative. Maintains organizational and installation property worth over $4.7 million.Achieved: Trained and employed my company during initial entry combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq with zero loss of life and only 4 wounded in action. Controlled over 500 square miles of northwest Iraqi, restoring essential services to over 2 million people. Established governance, security, and restored commerce through the Syrian border once hostilities ended.
