Strategic Communications Manager
Current- Design and execute strategic communication plans to support organizational priorities, employing effective project management.- Implement and assess internal and external communication strategies, overseeing engagement tools for target audiences, including donors, volunteers, board members, funders, and partners.- Streamlining the process of gathering and presenting information about LightHawk's activities and identity in a way that is understandable and useful for the staff through centralized data and information management tools.- Manage lead generation strategies, tools, and content, measuring their effectiveness.- Secure media placements through relationship building and handle staff and organizational responses to media enquiries and opportunities.- Contribute and curate content for development communications, such as proposals and donor reports.- Recognize and incorporate the link between storytelling and motivating volunteers, donors, and partners to support LightHawk's daily operations.- Provide data and content for monthly and quarterly internal reviews and board reports.- Supervise contractors supporting the strategic communication plan, including website, graphic design, and branding services.- Identify and implement technology solutions to manage the organization's digital assets for storytelling and stakeholder engagement.- Gather social media campaign analytics and devise plans to boost engagement across various audiences.- Develop and oversee the budget for the communications department's needs.NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS- Organize annual 'fly-in' events across the US, lasting 4 to 5 days. Handle event marketing, communications (website, mail, email, social media), speechwriting for CEO and board chair, and creating materials (handouts, posters, banners, presentations). Responsible for all marketing and communications for events.- Elevated the organization's social media footprint, achieving a remarkable 20% surge in the initial two years.
