Principal Software Engineer
CurrentKey Responsibilities and Accountabilities:• Provides operational management and supports business development through all funnel phases including opportunity evaluation, strategic alignment, win probability, risk analysis, pricing, and proposal development.• Provides architecture, information assurance, security engineering, and software development guidance in support of multiple applications and systems including highly secure platforms for the defense community and enterprise level process automation solutions deployed to tens of thousands of users.• Participates in solution development and operations of programs that include system and network engineering and design, cyber-security, cloud computing; mobility; data center consolidation, application rationalization, application migration, and network operations.• Liaises with multiple industry partners ensuring new technologies; best practices and lessons learned are applied to GDIT's solutions for DoD; Federal and State/Local customers.Key Achievements:• Architected and directed the shift from waterfall to agile software development lifecycle methodology using scrum for both software and non-software program areas. Documented CMMI based measurement and process improvement techniques to provide additional insight into team maturity and growth and document business value for our customers.• Developed hardware architecture for a large scale, safety critical, weather forecasting and geographic information system that increased reliability, improved performance, and reduced the system footprint while reducing cost by nearly 25%.
