Thanks for checking out my LinkedIn profile. I always enjoy meeting new people and learning about how they got to where they’re at today. I’m also happy to make introductions if there’s a good fit. So, if you ever run across someone I’m connected to on LinkedIn, feel free to ask Who am I? It seems like I can be many different things depending on the day, but for LinkedIn’s sake, I will stick with my professional title of Financial Planner/Retirement Transition Specialist. I’ve been in the financial planning and financial services industry since 2001. It’s all I’ve ever known as a career choice and I hope it stays that way for as long as I’m capable. So if you are still reading my profile (appreciate it), you’re probably thinking to yourself that you know all kinds of financial planners or financial advisors and most seem to be no different from the next. I would agree with you as it’s definitely true for many individuals in the financial planning field. With that said though, feel free to mosey on down to my experience section and I'll do my best to differentiate myself. On the personal side of things, I am married to my wife Christa, and we had our first child Harper on my 40th birthday (the best gift I could ever get!). We love traveling, trying new restaurants, and visiting craft breweries.

Retirement Transition Specialist, Certified Financial Planner®Nextgen Wealth Sep 2014 - PresentKansas City, Missouri AreaHello and welcome! My name is Clint Haynes, Certified Financial Planner®, and Founder of NextGen Wealth.I've been in the financial planning industry since 2001 and have worked for big Wall Street firms all the way to smaller regional firms. What's interesting, though, is there isn’t much difference between any of them besides the name. They all kind of say the exact same thing but just have different people saying it. If you could actually look behind the curtain, you probably wouldn’t know the difference between firm A, B, or Z. They like to use all kinds of fancy terms, industry jargon, charts, graphs, performance data, etc. to try and impress you, but it’s most likely just going to leave you more confused than you already were. Heck, it even confuses me when I hear other financial advisors talk sometimes. With that being the case, I wanted to create a practice that was different from everyone else. One that actually used normal vocabulary that you could understand and truly put your interests first. My ultimate goal is to add extreme value in every area of your financial life, particularly when it comes to helping you transition from your working years to your retirement years.Through our COLLAB Financial Planning Process™, we provide solutions in every area of your financial life so you can go into retirement with 100% confidence knowing that it will be fulfilling, purpose-driven and meaningful. And, best of all, we lay it out in a way that actually makes sense and will get you even more excited about the next stage in your life. I can assure you that the value we provide is a multiple of what it costs to work with us. Just take a look at our Google Reviews and I think you'll see why.If that sounds like the type of financial advisor you want to work with, then let us help you create a plan for your life after work becomes optional. -

Linkedin Expert, Educator And SpeakerNextgen Linkedin Jan 2014 - Jan 2017Kansas City, Missouri AreaSo what exactly is a LinkedIn Expert, Educator and Speaker? Well, let me explain. I actually kind of morphed into this role without even knowing it. Because I utilize LinkedIn for a ton of different reasons when it comes to my financial planning practice (business development, client engagement, credibility, networking, etc.), I became well versed in everything that is LinkedIn.From speaking with other professionals, I quickly realized no one was truly using LinkedIn the way I was for growing and building a business, along with the many networking opportunities it offered. Not long after having one of these conversations, I was asked to give a workshop to a small business here in Kansas City. Once I saw how amazed others were with the capabilities of LinkedIn, things really began to snowball and other speaking opportunities began to present themselves.I really enjoy sharing with others the power of LinkedIn and how it can be implemented in many different ways. While it could take hours to explain all there is to know, I have a few different workshops starting from a very high level all the way to breaking it down section by section. If you or your company have an interest in learning more or would like to set up a workshop, I’d be happy to help out. LinkedIn is truly an amazing tool and, when used correctly, it can be an incredible benefit in so many ways to helping grow a business. Partner, Financial AdvisorAxius Financial Feb 2013 - Aug 2014Kansas City, Missouri AreaAt Axius, my role was very similar to what it is at NextGen Wealth. We provided holistic financial planning to clients including cash flow management, retirement planning and investment management (amongst other things). While I was only with Axius a year and a half, it was a great place for me to begin building my financial planning practice after leaving The Mutual Fund Store as Director of Sales. The independence and freedom Axius afforded me was incredible and I really enjoyed working with everyone while I was affiliated. In the years and a half I was there, we did some great things here in Kansas City. Lead flow more than doubled in that time frame resulting in a 300% increase in new clients, assets under management and production. Client retention remained perfect at 100% and existing client assets nearly doubled (non-market related). It was a great place for me and they really encouraged me to take the next step and pursue my Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation which I began studying for in 2014.➢Financial Planning ➢Retirement Planning ➢Financial Planner ➢Financial Advisor ➢Financial Advice ➢Financial Plan ➢Investment Management -
Director Of SalesThe Mutual Fund Store Dec 2011 - Dec 2012In late 2011 I was promoted to Director of Sales for The Mutual Fund Store. In that role I worked closely with advisors from across the country to help them cultivate and grow their business. I was also chosen as a key member in the overhaul, development, and successful deployment of sales training for new and existing Investment Advisors.I worked cross-functionally with multiple departments implementing strategic sales initiatives and marketing campaigns that further expanded profitability. It was a great experience for me to work closely with our Head of Branches in the ongoing deployment of SalesKey® and ServiceKey® to field sales. While also in this role, I continued to actively service and manage investments and relationships with key clients. Being Director of Sales was truly a unique learning experience and one in which I believe has made me a more refined financial planner to this day. Some highlights as Director of Sales:➢ Increased lead flow more than 20% from January 1, 2012 to November 1, 2012, resulting in non-market asset growth improving by over 10% from the previous year➢ Lead in the development of quantitative sales metrics, allowing for a much more focused and targeted approach in coaching/training Investment Advisors➢ Successfully launched inaugural sales contest that increased new assets over 20% within a three-month period➢ Developed standardized process allowing Investment Advisors to more accurately set goals from minimum expectations, resulting in enhanced organizational forecasting ➢ Successfully implemented MS Dynamics CRM 2011 to field sales, leading to a superior user experience with more reliable/accurate managerial reporting and tracking➢ Enhanced overall client experience through improving and increasing the number of client interactions, resulting in existing client new assets growing over 10% since January 1, 2012➢Management ➢Coaching ➢Training ➢Financial Planner ➢Financial Planning ➢Investments ➢Retirement Planning

Senior Investment AdvisorThe Mutual Fund Store Jan 2007 - Nov 2011As a Senior Investment Advisor at The Mutual Fund Store, I really began to hone my craft and carve out a niche working with younger successful professionals and entrepreneurs. If you’re not familiar, TMFS is an independent Registered Investment Advisor with an emphasis on investment management for the mass affluent.I really enjoyed my time there and learned a number of things not only from a portfolio management perspective, but also a client relationship perspective. It certainly wasn’t an easy market to go through in 2008 and 2009, but it taught me the value of consistent client communication and the importance of staying the course (trust me, it was well worth it for all of my clients).Along with continuing to build my book of business and service existing client needs, I also worked with a number of new advisors in helping them get started on their journey. It will always be a passion of mine to help young financial planners get up and running. Some highlights as a Senior Investment Advisor:➢ Consistently grew business at least 20% annually, leading to over $45 million in assets under management in less than five years➢ Maintained over 96% client retention annually, ranking in the top 10% of all field sales➢ Ranking #1 in client referrals in 2010, bringing in over $5 million in assets under management➢ Key advisor in the creation of strategic sales initiatives and development of Field Sales Best Practices➢Financial Planning ➢Retirement Planning ➢Financial Planner ➢Financial Advisor ➢Financial Advice ➢Financial Plan ➢Investment Management

Retirement Plans SpecialistIcma-Rc Jan 2003 - Dec 2006From Morgan Stanley I was recruited by ICMA Retirement Corporation as a Retirement Plans Specialist. I was curious to see what else was out there and a company with a focus on retirement planning (both from a plan and individual client level) proved to be a great next step.Along with bringing my clients from Morgan Stanley, new clients included various municipalities in Kansas and Missouri i.e. City of Lee’s Summit, Overland Park, Olathe, Liberty, Wichita, Salina, Lawrence, Columbia, etc.It was a lot of work with both employers and employees from a retirement planning education perspective. I regularly hosted workshops for employees as well as presented to city councils and other retirement committees.I really enjoyed my four years there and learned a ton from the retirement plan level (457, DB, DC, etc). Mark Garapolo was a great mentor and someone I continue to stay in touch with to this day. Some highlights as a Retirement Plans Specialist:➢ National Honors Conference Winner (Top 10% of Sales Representatives) - 2004, 2005➢ Top Sales Representative in Mid-West Region - 2004, 2005➢ Increased assets under management over 12% annually from 2004-2006➢Retirement Planning ➢Retirement Planner ➢Financial Advisor ➢Financial Advice ➢Financial Plan ➢Investment Management -
Financial AdvisorMorgan Stanley May 2001 - Dec 2002Where it all began. When I started off in this industry, I really didn’t know what I was in for or where it would lead me. Morgan Stanley was a great starting point as it definitely introduced me to the “school of hard knocks” in the financial advisory world.Once I passed all of my licensing exams, I was on my way to NY for an intense three weeks of sales training. However, that’s an entirely different story in and of itself as our training began September 10th, 2001 and was held in the south tower of the World Trade Center. Please feel free to read my account from that day below as it was an experience I will never forget. When we finished training a few months later than expected, it was now time to start building my business. Since myself and nobody I knew really had much money to invest (remember I just graduated from college, I decided to hit the phones and start cold calling. While I definitely was not a big fan of cold calling, it’s truly how I began to build my practice. It was a tough year and a half, however we had a lot of laughs in the bullpen. With that said though, it was the best learning opportunity I’ll probably ever experience. You begin to develop thick skin, handle objections, think on your feet, engage in conversations, ask better questions, etc. The list can go on and on, but I think you get the point. In the time I was at Morgan Stanley I was consistently in the top quartile of my class from a new client and assets under management perspective. I truly enjoyed my time there and couldn’t think of a better starting point to my career.➢Retirement Planning ➢Financial Advisor ➢Financial Advice ➢Financial Plan ➢Investment Management
