My major task at both Pioneer Forest Mgt. and Coastal Land and Timber was acquiring and keeping clients, the lifeblood of all service companies and I guess the thing I am most proud to state after looking back is that I was quite good at doing that. I can honestly say that we had over 500 satisfied clients from CEO's at large international corporations like Weyerhauser, Ga. Pacific and International Paper to local timber dealers, large plantation owners and small family farm operators that I now call friends.When I came on board at Pioneer Forest Mgt. they were doing around $250,000 annually in timber sales with about 10 or 12 clients, the majority of the income was made doing contract cruising work at $20 an hour. Within one year of my taking over sales and client acquisition we had reached $1.5 million in sales adding 50-60 clients. Through 5 years, sales grew to $3.5 million with approx. 300 clients and by year 10 we had leveled out at 500 clients and $5-7 million in annual sales. By 1998 our partnership was one of the leading forestry consulting businesses in the SE. In our area of SW GA., SE Al. and North Fla. we were 2nd to only Multi-state, 1000+ employee F& W Forestry Services. In our 3rd year I began Coastal Land and Timber a land and timber acquisition and residential development business. Our first year was around $500,000 in annual sales and we steadily grew to average around $ 5 million in annual sales, with our biest year 2001 being $11,750,000. .
