I’ll address the elephant in the room first. I work to both earn and learn. I’m adaptable, knowledgeable, and have a strong work ethic. But I’ve seen a lot of recruiters using questionable hiring practices. I don’t pay for internships or do them for free. If I do work for you, you pay me. Personality tests are a dealbreaker for me. I do not mean to be off putting, but honesty is important. More positively, Linked In and resumes do not do my skills and talents justice. I am easy to work with, I learn quickly, and I have a large pool of experience to draw from. If anything, any given position I’m given is more of a restraint on utilizing my skills than a strain on them. I’ve worked both digitally and mechanically since childhood. The combination of these means that working with or on machines comes naturally to me. I design and print my own projects using a 3D printer and Designspark mechanical. The character limit simply does not provide enough space to describe the numerous ways I’ve applied the knowledge I’ve earned over the years. The best summary I can think of is that I solve problems and puzzles. Whether it’s tech support, troubleshooting an automobile and repairing it, the same with machinery, working with computers and software, or pinpointing and solving flaws in a manufacturing process or proposal. The details matter to me. How long does a workaround take? How frequently does this workaround have to occur in a shift? How many shifts in a year? What is the additional wear and tear when using this workaround on both equipment and personnel? I’m not content to simply lather, rinse, and repeat ad nauseam. I require growth and opportunity. I seek to find improvements to make, and positions in which I’m able to implement them.
