As a Senior Database Administrator, I provided mainframe support for IBM DB2 for z/OS at two client sites. I also conducted installation of database products and software, and tuned databases leveraging reorg, runstats, backup, and recovery, among other third-party utilities. Additionally, I carried out physical implementation of databases and established backup and recovery procedures. I delivered software upgrades and applied software fixes through coordination with vendors and customers. Finally, I provided proper training and educational material for customers.Two key accomplishments I had in this role include:- Managed the installation and tuning of SYBASE.Maintained IBM DB2 for z/OS mainframe databases and implemented changes to effectively support application developers.

At ChoiceCare, I analyzed, developed, implemented, and maintained corporate data structures in an evolving multi-platform environment, including structures such as MPE IMAGE and SYBASE. I conducted research and created a formal training program for SYBASE. Moreover, I researched and introduced database tools for SYBASE on the HP-UNIX environment, as well as, collaborated in the development and introduction of SYBASE environment.Three notable achievements I had as a Database Administrator include:- Created and implemented new procedures for backup and recovery of IMAGE and SYBASE databases.- Served as the lead Database Administrator in the implementation of first data warehouse utilizing SYBASE and HP-UNIX, as well as, collaborated in the relational platform of choice at ChoiceCare.- Assured acceptable database performance through the implementation of multiple tuning techniques.
