Is the lead engineer on many design projects; responsible for coordination of multiple engineering disciplines (i.e. mechanical and electrical) as well as coordination with suppliers to ensure products used within the design are readily available and meet the industry standards and quality requirements. Designed and analyzed steel and reinforced concrete structures through hand calculations and structural programs, such as finite element analysis. Prepared and verified multiple piping analysis and support calculations. Developed engineering technical evaluations and calculations for multiple rigging projects involving the removal and installation of heavy equipment. Authored the structural analysis portion of many design change packages for the implementation of upgrades to existing nuclear power plants. Civil engineer responsible for the design and implementation of modification packages. Developed the civil conceptual design for the refurbishment/replacement of existing plant structures and equipment, as well as the integration of new plant equipment. Created design calculations and drawings for multiple steel structures, concrete foundations, and retaining walls. Responsible for the interdisciplinary coordination required to ensure design compatibility. Lead engineer of the Resident Engineering group, which developed solutions and modified original civil engineering designs to resolve constructability issues encountered during implementation. Scheduled the completion of engineering requirements during an intense time-limited outage.

Lead team member in the embedded plates program. Evaluated welded connections, allowable stress and bearing of plates, and anchorage to concrete. Developed skills in group interaction and dynamics, team management, as well as scheduling and time management. Produced multiple calculations to qualify embedded plates for unique structures. Originated a calculation for the containment HVAC system of Watts Bar Unit II using GT Strudl to generate a structural model for dynamic analysis of the ductwork and supports. Generated drawings for the modifications developed from the calculation. Initiated the Material Requisition (MR) to obtain the required materials for construction.

Was exposed to the field of Geotechnical Engineering. Analyzed the properties of soils based on many common laboratory procedures. Developed skills in technical writing, while creating extensive soil reports for clients. Obtained the experience and knowledge to make structural recommendations based on soil type. Worked on multiple land development, commercial and industrial projects.

Developed an understanding of drainage and water management design as well as the environmental impacts of engineering projects. Explored ways to mitigate the environmental threats posed by large constructions projects. Utilized the necessary forms and procedures for new development pertaining to Wastewater Management District.
