As a project manager at Softsure, I gained valuable experience in the Software Development Lifecycle in the world of fintech (insurance), infrastructure, AI and cloud computing. Managing two teams focussing on cloud migrations, software development, chatbot over web and whatsapp, client facing marketing sites and client self service solutions.Without a doubt, it has been the steepest learning curve of my career, where target dates are tight, objectives are solid, and hundreds of projects had to be successfully delivered with limited resource availability. This role was all about sourcing and implementing technology in a very manual and un-tech savvy industry.Improving existing systems, implementing new systems and sourcing hardware tech to be used on multiple sites throughout South Africa.I was the product manager for a time & attendance system that was implemented over the course of a year.This includes: Time and Attendance system and devices (scanning/clocking), soil moisture telematics, temperature and humidity readers, irrigation management system, and a mobile device manager application.

Working as a systems administrator for a large scale agriculture operation, where I managed the system and data for over 1500 employees. This role included a payroll element, where payroll recons and audits had to be conducted monthly to ensure accuracy of monthly payments.Human Resource administration played a vital part as well, where I was responsible for employee leave management, disciplinary actions and recruitment data capturing and employee file upkeep.

What started as a sideline income, progressed into a brick and mortar store selling dry-goods (groceries). Further strategy changes were implemented, and an E-commerce site and application was developed. The company employed 2 full time employees, and focused on delivering bulk dry-goods to formal and informal vendors. I decided to pursue employment to finance the growth of TruGrocer. Career growth became my focus and I decided to close TruGrocer.

Project coordination in the mining construction industry. Experience was gained in mine health and safety standards, while coordinating different construction and maintenance projects on Samancor Smelter sites.

As a student with a passion for cycling and a drive to start a company in the cycling industry, I started Cycle Shed- a cycling specific marketplace that would charge a commission for products sold on the site. After spending 6 months working with different companies to build the e-commerce site, I started the cold calling process to recruit vendors to sell their products, and successfully added 1000 products from 6 vendors on the site.This is where my love for technology started.
