Before graduating from Oregon State University (OSU) with a Bachelors of Science, I landed two MECOP internships. My first internship was with the Boeing Company at the Auburn facility doing regulatory work within the Environmental, Health, and Safety team. My main focus during my time with the Boeing Company was to analyze contaminants entering the storm water system. My analysis reviled that some catch basins on site were high in lead and cadmium concentrations due to lead based paints and leachate from site refuse. My second internship was with Clean Water Services (CWS). I worked with the engineering team at the Durham wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), and my primary goal while working for CWS was to design a wastewater sampling improvement station for the Forest Grove WWTP. I coordinated with all of the teams that had a stake in the improvement and we managed to drastically alter the sampling station so that all parties involved were happy with the outcome.After finishing my second internship and graduating from OSU I was hired by the Dyer Partnership as an Engineering Technician 1. During my time with the Dyer Partnership I have assisted in completing various water, wastewater, and stormwater projects for muncipalites up and down the I-5 corridor. My work for those various projects has included AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting, preparation of specifications, cost estimating, handling payment requests and change orders by contractors, stormwater analysis, water master plans, wastewater component design, field observations, bid meetings, pre construction meetings and the associated paper work for them, surveying, and other day to day work.
