Lowin has served in organizational leadership since 1991, primarily using his knowledge, skills, and abilities to develop leaders.Dr. Lowin currently serves as the Minister of Missions at First Baptist Church Tyler. He has equipped, empowered, and engaged congregations in local church and global missional settings. He served as the lead catalyst and facilitator of international church planting efforts in the Dominican Republic; mobilized participants to cross-cultural mission experiences (Canada, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Kenya, Brazil, and all over the continental United States); enabled local church revitalization projects in Ohio, Texas, and Iowa; and led strategic interim pastorates assisting churches through healthy leadership transitions.He served as the Executive Director and Campus Dean of Wayland Baptist University San Antonio campus. He led the staff and faculty to educate students in an academically challenging, learning-focused, and distinctively Christian environment for professional success and service to God and humankind. Prior to this role, Lowin left Wayland in 2018, taking the opportunity to serve as the Director of Religious Education for the U.S. Army Garrison Religious Support Office in Wiesbaden, Germany. In this position, he collaborated with DREs and Army Chaplains in preparing strategic planning and implementation of spiritual readiness and community revitalization efforts. From 2016-2018, he served Wayland Baptist University as the Dean and Lester W. James, Sr. Professor in the School of Religion and Philosophy. He was hired as the Director of Ministry Guidance and Director of Assessment and Effectiveness in Wayland’s School of Religion and Philosophy in 2011. He served as interim and Associate Dean in the school prior to being named Dean in 2016. At Wayland, he developed and implemented the KALEO youth leadership program and served as the interim director of the Kenya campus.
