As a social work intern for PROVE, I am helping empower student veterans to overcome the unique challenges of transitioning from the military into a civilian academic environment. I work with dozens of student veterans, both in groups and individually, from a wide range of backgrounds. In my work with veterans I utilize facilitated discussion, games, art practices, group excercise and a variety of other tools to build strong, impactful relationships between veterans and our organization. I also provide information and assistance navigating veterans' benefits systems, often advocating on their behalf with school officials of the VA.
