The County Clerk is the second largest generator of revenue in Tarrant County. Responsible for the administration and management of the entire County Clerk’s Office, including day to day operations, the Chief Deputy creates an executive level strategy to maximize services while minimizing costs. Resolves extremely complex problems that possess wide ranging internal and external effects. Continually monitors workload and staffing, making organizational adjustments as needed. Develops, assesses, and modifies policies to create an outstanding workplace environment balanced against a high degree of efficiency. Manages all aspects of human resources activities, hiring, discipline and termination, for over 160 team members. Leads staff development with an emphasis on mentoring senior management. Develops and manages the department’s annual budgets ($14 million), administering the expenditures from two special funds (29 million) in compliance with statutes. Creates an annual plan for the acquisition and implementation of new technology, oversees the County Clerk’s Information Technology staff’s activities; including the prioritization of their work. Manages complex technology projects from the acquisition stage through implementation. Acts as media spokesperson at the direction of the County Clerk. Interfaces regularly with judges, department heads and elected officials on behalf of the County Clerk.
