• Provided high-level support to the project control and accounting teams for the growing environmental and emergency management consulting firm• Overhauled the financial reporting process of the Obsidian (Emergency Management) business unit after a merger in February 2016: This included the creation of the company’s new KPI and revenue projection reports and associated monthly reporting memo which were shared with executive level management• Supported the monthly invoicing process on over 40 projects which include overseeing employee expenses, subcontractor invoices, as well as invoice submission • Assisted with contract management and purchase orders to ensure corporate compliance

• Sales reporting, budgeting and forecasting as part of a three person financial team for the Books publishing department with annual gross sales of $80M and growing• Managed the reporting, budgeting and forecasting of the Children’s, Travel, and Atlas product lines, containing over 30 individual product lines• Created five new reports used extensively by upper management to determine overall book profitability, help identify areas for potential cost savings, and analyze sales patterns• Learned and utilized multiple new software applications such as FileMaker databases, Hyperion Financial Management, and Oracle PeopleSoft to monitor books financial transactions• Liaised between manufacturing, distribution, sales and marketing departments to maintain key assumption and data integrity and consistency

• Assisted in the planning, development, execution, and analysis of market research programs for the Joint Advertising Market Research and Studies (JAMRS) program and other customer satisfaction clients • Constructed briefings and government-sponsored reports and deliverables under tight scheduled deadlines for senior management to present to stakeholders • Primary Projects: Tracking youth military propensity for military service (mail, phone, and web surveys), tracking the effectiveness of military advertising campaigns, and monitoring customer satisfaction of other Department of Defense clients

Held a summer internship with InnovateTech Ventures as they worked to develop the technology transfer department at James Madison University. Our key initiatives involved seeking new business or product ideas developed by the students and staff at JMU and assessing the commercial viability of these inventions. The goal was to build JMU's Technology Transfer office into a formidable force in assisting students and professors take their ideas and inventions into the marketplace via angel investing and research grants. My primary tasks were to research successful Technology Transfer programs at other schools and benchmark JMU's progress to those of more established programs.
