Responsibilities : 1. To ensure that job requests and planned maintenance tasks generated by the Pragma PM System is carried out according to the Maintenance & Safety Work Instructions.2. To ensure that breakdowns (mechanical and electrical) are immediately attended to.3. To carry out continuous inspection for unsafe actions or conditions. 4. To forward all updates and improvements on the Pragma PM generated task sheets to the Factory Engineer.5. To abide by the Aberdare Code of Safety and the Aberdare Code of Occupational Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures.6. To ensure that the plant and equipment are lubricated where necessary.7. To supervise personnel under your control.8. To plan, supervise, assist and inspect maintenance work.9. To identify hazardous working conditions with reference to Aberdare Code of Safety & to request necessary, personal protective and safety equipment, safe work permit and enforces its use.10. To use in-house or brought in replacements of expensive spare parts where these replacements are of the same or better quality.11. To ascertain the root cause and possible remedy or solution to prevent re-occurrence problems.12. To make suggestions and recommendations to improve plant and machinery.13. Control time and attendance of personnel under your control.14. To educate, train, appraise maintenance personnel under your control.15. Ensure that the correct tools are used to do the job and that they are maintained in a good working order.16. To ensure usage of MIC/MES system18. In liaison with Stores Controller ensure the stores stocks are constantly updated to the required levels and replenish when necessary. Where necessary submit relevant documentation .20. Assist with the installation of plant and machinery.21. Inspect electrical plant and machinery as well as installations to ensure a safe working environment (as per electrical regulations and SABS 0142)

Forward all updates and improvements on the SAP PM System generated task sheets to the Foreman11. Abide by the Aberdare Code of Safety and the Aberdare Code of Occupational Conduct and Disciplinary Procedure.12. Allocate duties, monitor and train the apprentices under your control.13. Follow up outstanding ordered spares via stores or Foreman.14. Carry out minor fabrication work.15. Lubricate plant and equipment necessary.16.
