Having spent 18 years working with computers and information technology in a variety of roles, I undertook a fundamental career change. Over the past few years I have become very interested in green issues and the arguments for and against climate change. I have spent time looking at how the built environment contributes to the debate and what can be done to reduce its impact on the environment as a whole and this spurred me on to become a Domestic Energy Assessor, NHER Authorised SAP Assessor, On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor, Green Deal Advisor and to begin working towards the Centre of Refurbishment Excellence (CoRE) Retrofit Coordinator qualification. With the closure of CoRE I hope to complete the course with The Retrofit Academy.Away from work I enjoy a variety of activities. I study and teach Tai Chi, and I am qualified as a Senior Coach with the Wu Kung Federation, which is based in Bletchley and is affiliated to the British Council of Chinese Martial Arts. I enjoy singing, and I am a member of the choir at Christ the Cornerstone church in Central Milton Keynes. I am also a member of the New English Singers, who perform concerts throughout the year featuring a cappella music from the 15th to the 20th century. I play cricket and badminton, both of which are a triumph of enthusiasm over skill! I've also taken up running, and can be found gently plodding my way around the Milton Keynes Park Run on most Saturday mornings. I am a member of the Milton Keynes Christian Environmental Group, and also try to maintain my interest in Astronomy and in science in general. I also spend as much time as I can with my wife and son.
