Elm Grove Consulting (EGC) is registered with the ICAEW and through EGC I worked at Eleco plc (AIM listed company).At Eleco plc I worked with the Executive Chairman and Directors to turnaround the business from a loss making building services business into a successful international software group.Share price at lowest 5p now 76pThe role included attendance at PLC and subsidiary board meetings, managing the groups cash position, selling four loss making companies, finalisation of the group budget, finalisation of the year end statutory accounts, managing the solvent wind down of several businesses.Working closely with PricewaterhouseCoopers and groups bankers (Lloyds) on various business reviews which were needed as part of a refinancing and re banking.Restructured the head office based in London.

CFO for a professional services business (70 employees, £16m turnover) which provided strategic advice on major infrastructure projects. PUK also owned a Venture Capital business and had an interests in several LLP joint ventures.PUK was a demanding and complex environment and although PUK is not a listed company it adopts the corporate governance of a PLC.My main achievements at PUK were:Creating and leading a finance department which supported the business and became very well respected throughout the group.Sale of a joint venture for £22.5mSelling PUK's main consultancy business to HM TreasurySale of an PUK's investment portfolioSelling an equity portfolio for £60m to a listed infrastructure fund.Following the sale of all the business interests in Dec 2011 I was retained on a consultancy basis to manage the final winding up of PUK and return of capital to shareholders through a solvent liquidation in Sept 2014.

I successfully set up the finance department, all the financial systems, managed the finances of the group and contributed to strategy ensuring the group delivered increasing operating profits year on year.Completed three re-financings totalling £150m.
