The outdoor radio base station for Vodafone required some new Electronic sub-assemblies, which had to be defined, designed and tested. The fully assembled cabinet underwent EMC compliance to RA and GSM specifications for emissions and susceptibility. The vibration testing for transport and roadside deployment was undertaken at military facilities.The fixed terminal for Radio in the Local Loop (RLL) system was heavily tested for radio performance in a field "laboratory" to debug call-set up and guard band issues. The Bill of Materials was approved and released to MRP for 1st tranche manufacture and was trialled in Poland and Philippines.The fixed RLL terminal was evolved into a dual mode GSM/Satcomms Fixed Satellite Terminal for Globalstar, and after resolving global support, procurement, testing proposals and manufacturing capacity, this programme was taken through product definition and feasibility study up to the award of order cover for design and build of a prototype tranche.

As Graduate Engineer designing and building prototype fuzing, component simulation, soak testing and shock testing for artillery. Designed and coded a tank gunnery simulator with voice simulation and graphics processing.Coded and commissioned the emulator needed by a subcontractor to design to prototype the role setting equipment. Supervised the prototype build of sets for vibration, thermal and EMP tests, and field trials.Created the procurement specifications to UK Defence Standards for US components being used. Presented the equipment design and documentation to bidders for the outsourced production. Designed, coded and programmed the automated test equipment for a new weapon system that was entering batch production at a defence production subcontractor. Supporting the first tranche on-site with QA, sign-off, and also of all the test gear's support documentation, and change control to defence standards.
