Responsible for the overall operational functions of all DP the Rigs in country, with special emphasis on the drillingoperations, coordinating all operations toward effective and efficient performance;· Responsible for coordinating annual budgeting process for areas under his authority;· Responsible for reviewing monthly financial reports and explanation of variances for operations under hisauthority;· Responsible for proposing to Contracts Director, issuing and controlling capital expenditures via the AFE system.· Determines effectiveness of general operations and initiate improvements where required;· Maintain cost control over the rig operations while maintaining company standards.

Coordinated (rig/client) drilling program development including site specific deepwater drilling riskassessment;· Responsible for the Well control / well test procedures, guarantying that personnel on board follow procedures,checking calculations for the correct well control parameters, well flow and others;· Represented company with local and international authorities (Classification societies, port authorities, federaland local police, federal and local environmental authorities, etc.);· Manage the manpower and resources of the rig to achieve optimum performance so as to ensure the wellprogram is carried out in a safe, efficient and productive manner;· Develop and submit a consolidated rig’s annual maintenance budget for approval, and responsible for managingcompliance on an annual basis;· Promote and ensure that all PRIDE’s Policies and Procedures are communicated and understood by personnelon the rig;· Day-to-day contact with the rig and client;· Management of rig repair and upgrade projects (Many different Brazilian yards wet and dry docks), with totalresponsibility for the up grade and finance control for the ship yard project.

Evaluate the effectiveness of the drilling and related services contracts. Identify areas for improvement and proposeenhancement initiatives.· Manage the day-to-day operations associated with the well, including planning and scheduling, resource allocation, costcontrol and the clear and concise reporting of all well site activities and events.· Deliver high quality, cost-effective wells according to the approved well programs and resolve operationalproblems as they arise.· Optimize operational process without compromising HSE, well integrity, or the integrity of the drilling unit.· Ensure full compliance with the Company HSE policy standards and objectives.

· Ensure that the Driller is provided each tour with the Standing Instructions to Driller (SID) that is relevant to the planned operations· Monitor the maintenance, repair and installation of all drilling equipment including repair, lubrication, maintenance records, and inventory levels· Maintain records of inspections and certification of drilling equipment, tools and tubulars· Ensure that the mud mixing systems and solid control equipment are being monitored constantly and properly maintained· Relieve the Driller at the Driller's console as operational requirement demands· Participate in the daily operations meeting with the OIM and other rig department heads· Monitor the application of the Company Rig Maintenance System (RMS) for drilling department maintenance tasks· Review and approve all drilling related work permits (PTW) as the Responsible Person for the task· Supervise equipment preparation for impending drilling operations· Assist in planning the job activities of the drilling department and associated activities· Ensure that well control requirements are in place according to operational requirements; assist in supervising well killing operations in an emergency situation. Attend pre-spud meetings and take note of all well-related hazards and ensure that they are managed appropriately· Perform all well control calculations (i.e. mud weight increase, initial and final circulating pressures, number of strokes, etc.)· Assist the OIM in coordinating the activities of third-party personnel responsible for various aspects of the well program; ensure that these personnel understand and follow Transocean policy and procedures related to the task and follow Transocean safety processes.
