At Spark I am responsible for all operational aspects of the business, including Finance, Sales and Marketing. The opportunity to work with Spark Engagement (formerly Passion Works) came out of the blue. My previous company had been Spark's first Associate and, when I reconnected, I discovered that the company is going through an exciting period of growth and development. I was delighted to be asked to get involved to establish a comprehensive infrastructure and help Jaqueline Throop-Robinson, the Founder and CEO, grow the business. Exciting times!Previously I was the owner and CEO of Illumine Training. After closing Illumine in June 2020 - after 24 successful and at times, stressful years - I was determined to take time out before deciding what to do next. I got involved in the COVID vaccination programme as a volunteer and immersed myself in some personal projects.

Illumine provided high impact training based on the premise that superior thinking leads to superior performance. I led the company’s development from a niche provider of highly specialised courses through to a successful training company running a wide range of courses for a wide variety of clients and industries, in many different countries.The company was focused on providing management and personal skills development training, built around improving the quality of thinking in order to enhance performance. The company had a unique portfolio of high quality courses, designed to build skills in six inter-related areas:- Management & Leadership Essentials- Learn, Absorb & Understand- Write, Speak & Influence- Creative Thinking & Innovation- Meetings, Facilitation & Coaching- Engagement & Personal BalanceOur most popular courses were: Creativity for Logical Thinkers, Think Before You Speak, Mind Mapping, Speed Reading, Fast Reading & Super Memory. Illumine closed in June 2020.

Management Consultant responsible for selling and delivering high value add projects for a wide variety of clients. Having joined the consultancy as a financial management specialist (I qualified as a Management Accountant in 1984), initially I did a range of interim Financial Controller/Director roles and finance department reorganisations. I then specialised in performance measurement and then performance improvement, working internationally in a wide range of industry sectors.

I was responsible for all aspects of financial management in this US owned technology company. Initially reporting to the European VP of Finance, when the company was sold to a very large computer company, the VP resigned and I was charged with managing the transition of all the staff – either into new roles or out of the company.
