Actively preparing to take the Certified Forensic Examiner’sMy journey to this interest is as follows. Through life experiences, tragedies, and professional endeavors, I have noticed how important the role emotions and coping skills play in daily and professional life. This piqued my curiosity about unhealthy emotions, poor coping skills and dysfunctional and fraudulent behavior. I even wrote a bit about it in my masters thesis on international conflict resolution. These issues negatively impact companies. The damage ranges from team disruption and loss of morale and productivity, to legal and Human Resources nightmares, all the way to explicit malice and criminal behavior. My loyalty to my employers or clients motivates me to assist with protective efforts and systems. My sense of justice and fair play motivates me to facilitate consequences and repercussions for those who seek to damage honest efforts at commerce.I am also interested in Behavioral Accounting, including the ongoing research into the motivations and the decision trees that drive both honest and effective investment and fraudulent and criminal behaviors and decisions.According to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, I am an ENTJ.

I provided calm and supportive intervention to troubled teenagers. I deescalated and negotiated for cross country travel to treatment center. I leaned heavily on techniques I Lenard’s from Chris Voss, a former FBI hostage negotiator, to facilitate emotional shift from fight/flight/freeze/fawn to having neocortex online and being able to communicate effectively. Since then I have been surprised to notice that most adults often operate and negotiate from a similar emotional place. I performed more than 300 successful interventions and this gave me considerable insight into how important it is to acknowledge the emotional human component in negotiations. Chris Voss teaches this extensively and I now include this knowledge in all of my interactions with people, especially during the negotiation process.
