His confident handling of new technologies, his grasp of engineering principles, his business focus, his capacity for getting technical consensus and his arresting style of communication have helped many businesses’ most vital projects.Clive’s experience lies in telecommunications systems (about which he wrote a successful textbook), in smart energy and in aspects of national security. But perhaps his greatest strength is his ability to contribute rapidly in areas that are new both to him and to his clients.Clive is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology. He holds BSc, BA & DipMus degrees, and a certificate in Business Analysis.Recent achievements• Clive invented several patentable ideas in a study of applications of small-cell mobile technology in national security, for a public sector client.• Clive delivered top level solution architectures for a number of features for the EE 4G network.• With grant support from the UK Technology Strategy Board, Clive conceived, analysed and demonstrated some radically disruptive market mechanisms for UK electricity supply; again, Clive produced patentable intellectual property.• Clive advised the Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) on m2m telecoms technologies for its smart metering programme, and managed the agile development of a smart metering network simulator.• As client-side technical authority, Clive managed the requirements for the agile development of the Technology Strategy Board’s ICTomorrow trading platform for trials of digital content and applications.
