I was team lead of the Consular section within the South African Embassy. I oversaw the day to day running of the section. I assisted with adjudication of CVs for vacant positions in the embassy and I provided induction and training to new staff members. I kept and amended all personnel files and assess performance agreements and appraisals annually. I created the SA Embassies official Facebook page and maintained and managed it on a daily basis.I was responsible for SA immigration in Ireland. I accepted, adjudicated and issued all visas for those wishing to visit or relocate to SA from Ireland. I also updated and trained staff members or alterations or changes to SA immigration laws and practices. I provided assistance to distressed SA citizens and assisted them with issues they had while residing or visiting Ireland. I also dealt with and responded to any customer complaints relating to the consular section.I provided PA assistance to the SA Ambassador. I managed his diary and ensured that he is always prepped and organised for the meetings and events he attended. I regularly planned and coordinated Heads of Mission luncheons and other functions the diplomats within the embassy hosted. On an annual basis I worked as part of a team to organise major events such as South Africa's national Day and SA Heritage Day, these events are attended by dignitaries such as Ambassadors and Heads of State etc. Throughout the year I assisted SA delegations who visited Ireland to promote tourism and investment in SA with special events, travel arrangements, agendas and itineraries.
