Research Assistant - Pflexi Study
Part-time role with the Pflexi study. This study aims to train and engage primary care practitioners with PFME teaching of women of all ages and life phases. Unlike with my work on APPEAL, I was be able to gain ethics and grant application experience from the Pflexi study, as well as planning Public and Patient Involvement Events for the study. It gave me the experience of what it is like developing a study from the beginning of the process to compliment the knowledge I have gained from being involved with APPEAL at the end of the study programme.
Undergraduate Research Assistant - Appeal Study
As part of my degree I undertook a Professional Training Year at the University of Exeter Medical School. I worked as a part of the Exeter APPEAL group, which aims to prevent postnatal urinary incontinence in women via enhanced antenatal pelvic floor muscle exercise training for midwives. I gained experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, including in dedicated softwares (Stata and NVivo). During my time here, I became a member of both the Women's Health Research Group as well as the Behavioural Science Research Group. This allowed me to not only network with academics and researchers but to be exposed to new and exciting research projects being done at the University. During my time in this role I not only developed my (qualitative and quantitative) analysis skills, but my data collection skills as well. I had the opportunity to set up and interview research participants, as well as analyse the dataset, which allowed me to be involved in all stages of the data collection and analysis process.I also had the opportunity to present on behalf of the APPEAL research team at the ICS conference in Vienna, allowing me to experience the preparation and presentation of scientific abstracts for an international audience.

Barista And Customer Service Assistant
I was trained how to operate a professional-standard coffee machine, how to create several different types of coffee for customers as well as pouring pints and mixing drinks behind the bar. I became proficient at taking and adapting orders to the customers liking, as well as working in a team to fulfil orders especially during peak times.
