Leading the fundraising strategy and implementation for St James's Hospital Foundation, the charity which fund raises on behalf of St James's Hospital Dublin, a major university teaching hospital for Trinity College Dublin.Key areas of focus, which I have now developed into distinctive appeals are Target Lung Cancer, GynaeCancerCare, Sports Concussion, Head and Heart - CT Scanner, and the National Burns Unit at St James's Hospital.My role covers across the demands of major and individual giving, foundations, proposition development, prospect research, marketing and communications, project development and stakeholder management.

As Associate Director, I was responsible for securing major donations against key projects in College, with Science Gallery, School of Engineering, School of Natural Science, School of Physics and School of Chemistry. My work also included business development, business planning, strategy, as well as relationship management development, event management and research. A key part of my work was connecting across College and with external organisations and foundations, and devising excellent investment opportunities to support College objectives.Key projects:- E3 Project, Trinity's Engineering, Energy and Environment Institute, a major new engagement between the School of Engineering and the School of Natural Science, with plans to develop a new building on campus to allow for enhanced facilities for students and researchers.- i-LOFAR - supporting the School of Physics to finance the purchase and installation of a digital radio telescope in Birr Castle Demesne. I held a dual role within the Improvement Service, (public body supporting improvement in Scottish local government services) firstly working with the CEO to put in place and lead on the operational and financial aspects of the business, reporting directly to the board. Secondly, I delivered an improvement programme directly supporting improvements to service delivery by Scottish Councils and their partners, including health care. The emphasis was particularly on shared learning, efficiencies, customer service and feasibility of shared services across different local authorities.

I joined the Scottish Government at Policy Analyst /Principal Officer as part of the Government’s drive to reform the civil service and bring in fresh talent. During that time I was the lead for Best Value in local government and public services and also led a team focused on child poverty issues - including housing, health, education, benefits, childcare provision, etc. I advised ministers on local government performance, policy, legislation, scrutiny and managed programme budgets including £180m quality of life fund. I also established a public body - Improvement Service for Local Government.

Threshold is a national voluntary housing organisation working for better rights and conditions for low-income households in Ireland. Working to the CEO I had overall responsibility for all research and policy for Threshold, defining the organisation’s campaigning strategy and backing this with an evidence base in social and economic housing research. During my time there I produced several substantive housing reports, policy documents, and worked with the media and government to lobby on housing issues.

I was responsible for developing and supporting community business activities in Ballymun during the start of the regeneration of Ballymun, providing guidance and funding to SMEs, and developing new workspace for SMEs in Ballymun.
