Zhangjiagng City is located in one of the most developed regions in China —Yangtze River Delta. This City covers an area of 999km² with a population of 1400,000. In 2009, we achieved the GDP of RMB143billion, revenue of RMB 27 billion and import and export value of USD21.5billion, all of which ranks on the top of the cities of its kind. The City has a solid base of industry with as many as 13000 enterprises and completed a sales income of RMB 390 billion in the year of 2009. Now it has developed six mainstay industries as textile, metallurgy, mechanical and electrical, foodstuff and building materials and so on. The export-oriented economy of Zhangjiagang City develops rather rapidly and more than 1325 foreign invested enterprises have been set up with a total contracted investment of USD8.1billion and paid investment of USD 5.5billion. So far as many as 50 multinational companies and Global 500 has invested in the City, such as Chevron, Dow Chemical, Dow corning, Dupont from America, Mitsubishi, NSK and Asahi from Japan, Posco from South Korea and Magna from Canada, to name just a few.
