Profile bio

About Calvin Smith

I'm a Salesforce Sr Technical Architect (9X Certifications), Salesforce MVP Hall Of Fame member, and Dreamforce speaker. I work hard to continue staying abreast with the many new features that are constantly being added to the Salesforce platform (e.g. OmniScripts and Cognitive AI). I'm forever learning as I continue to build on my Salesforce technical skills and watch industry trends. I've worked with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Health Cloud, Government Cloud, Experience Cloud, Field Service and more. As an architect I have a strong interest in design patterns as well as anti-patterns. The knowledge that what I was doing every day was helping make medical care and life-saving medications accessible to patients, made working in Life Sciences satisfying and rewarding. I'm looking forward to spending more time working with AI. It meshes well with my background of having worked with data analysis and design of experiments in the auto industry, learning from the likes of Charles Deming. I presented on the subject at Dreamforce 2019. My career has grown such that I primarily work with large multi-org implementations. As a thought leader, much of my work often involves helping companies strategically. I review enterprise architecture, help solution and guide companies on how to move from on-premise solutions to the cloud. I work with an eye towards consolidating and unifying diverse solutions among business units into common, shared services. Establishing and growing a company's COE is another area of importance I worked in. Governance is an essential component for companies that want to ensure their Salesforce Org will scale as they grow and add additional functionality. If done properly, it can help them reuse components across multiple applications and orgs. These are just some of the challenges I assist companies with.Early in my career, I was frequently found on Salesforce.StackExchange as crmprogdev helping others with questions about Salesforce. I've led numerous certification study groups and am one of the founders of DallasGiveForce (http://www.dallasgiveforce.com). Today, I mentor others when and as I have time, both as part of my job and in the Salesforce Community.PLEASE, no recruiters. I'm well compensated and very excited by the role I have as an Associate Director at Cognizant.

Listed skills include Cloud Computing, Salesforce.Com, Software Development, Web Design, and 46 others.

Teaneck, New Jersey, Us

At Cognizant, I worked as a trusted advisor to clients, helping architect their journey of moving more of their business processes to the cloud. Technical Architect, Saleforce Mvp, Dreamforce Speaker

Bangalore, Karnataka, In

As a member of the US Salesforce Architecture Leadership Team, I worked with a global team of resources implementing Salesforce in a variety of organizations including Financial, Health Insurance and Electrical Manufacturing verticals. Being with Infosys provided me with opportunities to work on larger and more interesting projects than I did when working for myself. With the support of Infosys, I presented four times at Dreamforce 2019, mostly on subjects related to Service Cloud and AI projects I'd been involved in during the previous year. During my last assignment, I worked on setting up a COE, establishing frameworks, setting design standards, planning and strategy for the future state at a multi-org health insurer as it migrated it's business operations to Salesforce while retiring older infrastructure.
