Arrow offered insights into the world of supply chain that enabled me to build my skills, while saving the company thousands of dollars on purchases. Specifically, I saved upwards of 15% on a number of bulk purchases by building a price analysis tool in Alteryx that used Arrow's sales and the available market to suggest order levels.I selected preferential customers during shortages by evaluating sales and relationship value, and helped identify strategic ways to avoid the new Chinese Tariffs. I also engaged regularly with suppliers in settings such as Quarterly Business Reviews.Lastly, I also became educated on "building IoT systems" via an internal case competition where my team competed against over 185 other interns in front on C-suite executives. Arrow offered me insights into the worlds of supply chain and sales, specifically: inventory management, pricing, tariffs, strategy, supplier marketing, and relationship management.

As an intern in quality control at ATG, I was able to help streamline operations in several areas. Most notably, I saved upwards of $10,000 by reducing scrap waste and untraceable parts via the creation of a digital material tracking database. I also reduced drawing release time by over 50% through a restructuring of the drawing release and replacement process, improving departmental productivity.

In my senior year of college, we launched unspun, taking an initial back-of-the-napkin idea and turning it into a VC-funded, demonstrable product. Today, you can purchase unspun jeans in flagship H&M's, and the technology we patented continues to advance the world of environmental fashion. As one of eleven total employees at the time, I led and facilitated all engineering team design and activity, while taking on many other roles, from planning and scheduling, to CAD engineer and machinist. Our team served as the entire research and development department, and as logistics director, I facilitated the creation of two prototypes that enabled out client to secure $1,000,000 of funding from the National Science Foundation. Through those prototypes, we demonstrated that fabric can be woven with curved structure, not just in flat pieces, leaving the possibility for significant reduction in waste and labor (through automation) from the textile manufacturing process. The company has now raised $21.5M and has a staff of 50+. This experience grew my startup, engineering, and organizational skillsets while providing me invaluable insight into management, finance, and patents.

As Vice Chair of CCS and Engineering Co-Senator, I saved new students over $1,000,000 by helping regulate student fees. Additionally, I oversaw approval of a roughly $24 million budget. I also organized community development opportunities for CU students, including Engineering Week, career fairs, and other events.

I worked with hundreds of customers every week, created new employee training manuals, and oversaw a roughly 20% increase in average bar revenue. Over my time there, I worked almost every job, from concession sales, to bartender, to yard and park maintenance, and even office work. This experience taught me many lessons about owning and running small private businesses.

I worked in the Product Development department at Springs Fabrication, apprenticing with the lead project engineer on an array of projects at the custom steel fabrication company. I learned how to create effective and well-organized engineering drawings, and to read, interpret, and correct others drawings. I gained 3D modeling skills in SolidWorks by my work designing in-house welding fixtures and several other small parts for customers. I established a working proficiency in the ERP software SYSPRO, and I also created a fast estimation tool for the plate laser in Excel. My daily interactions brought me to the purchasing department, document control, quality control, welding engineers, material handlers, project managers, and most importantly, the shop. The custom projects and fast-paced environment at Springs Fab allowed me to learn valuable shop, manufacturing, and fabrication (welding) knowledge that I've been able to apply to my other work.
