Has been actively promoting the viability and execution of projects and initiatives linked to nature conservation in Brazil, since 1982. Founded the Society for Wildlife Research and Environmental Education (Sociedade de Pesquisa em Vida Selvagem e Educação Ambiental) - SPVS (www.spvs.org.br) in 1984 in the state of Paraná, Southern Brazil, acting as the first President and today carries out the role of Executive Director. From 1995 to 1996, worked in Arlington, Virginia - USA, in the Brazilian Program of “The Nature Conservancy”. Since 1991, has had a close relationship with TNC, which helped in providing experience in managing complex partnerships and developing strategies for fundraising and building relationships with donors.Selected as an Ashoka Fellow in 1989. Also supported as an Avina Leader since 1998, both experiences have led to the opportunity of developing relationships with a large number of institutions, both in the conservation area as well as in other areas of activity, especially in Latin America. Active member of the Latin American Platform for Climate Change (Plataforma Latino Americana de Mudanças Climaticas) and the Climate Observatory in Brazil (Observatorio do Clima). Volunteer consultant for Fundação Grupo Boticário de Proteção à Natureza, collaborating with the selection of projects over the last 16 years. Board member of the following Brazilian foundations and organizations: Fundação Ecotrópica, Fundação Homem Pantaneiro, Instituto de Justiça Ambiental and Instituto Rã-bugio. Board member for eight years of FUNBIO (Brazilian Fund for Biodiversity) and currently Consulting Board member, accompanying various stages of the creation of mechanisms for regional funds for the conservation of biodiversity in Brazil. Vice-president of the Board for LIFE Institute, participating actively in the strategic leadership of the institution.

  As the Executive Director of SPVS, responsible for managing the institution’s Board, receiving international donors invited by partner institutions, people management and relationships with clients, participation in creating innovative initiatives for biodiversity conservation, impacting public policies through the appropriate government bodies of the Federal, State and Municipal Government, instrumental in attracting resources for projects and institutional support.Participated in conceiving and implementing pioneer Climate and Biodiversity projects, creating a model for the conservation of remnants of natural areas in urban settings of Curitiba, Paraná, collaborated with the creation of and search for private support of Payment for Ecosystem Services programs in endangered areas through the adoption of well-conserved private areas with a strategy for offsetting carbon emissions from vehicles and residences from HSBC Insurance clients in Brazil. Through a partnership, created and implemented an International Certification in Biodiversity – LIFE Certification (www.institutolife.org.br).
