I am responsible at Naval Supply Systems Command, Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk (FLCN), Industrial Support Department, Logistics Division, IL Support Branch, Engineering Assessment Section for providing IL and services to fleet vessels undergoing Integrated Logistics Overhauls (ILO), Phased Maintenance Reviews (PMR) and Total Ship Readiness Assessments (TSRA) under the cognizance of Mid-Atlantic Region Maintenance Center MARMC) and Atlantic Fleet Submarines as assigned by Commander Fleet Forces Command Type Commanders. Also as a part of the job I assist in providing services to fleet vessels undergoing Integrated Logistics Overhauls, provide configuration and logistics support that encompasses a broad spectrum of ILS functionality applicable to ship modernization, conversion, overhaul, refueling, and repair. I provide comprehensive review and validation of all configuration records associated with the shipboard equipment being assessed to include gathering data by conducting validation of shipboard equipment and systems ensuring accurate configuration information and the correct identification of logistics support elements. Responsible for building the necessary files for up-line reporting for all configuration additions, deletions, and changes to ensure data base integrity for assigned systems/equipment/platforms. This is to facilitate requisitions, expediting and receipt of material as necessary to restore equipment to full mission capability.

Responsible for processing data received from Configuration Data Manager Database Open Architecture (CDMD – OA) associated with equipment located on board CVN 68 class ships to determine the accuracy and completeness of the records as well as research all applicable logistics Technical Manuals (TM), Software, Planned Maintenance System (PMS) documentation. Perform logistical support functions for all Alteration Installing Teams (AIT) alterations installations. This requires communicating with the AITs, in service Engineering Agents (ISEAs), Planning Yard Technical Codes, Allowance Parts Lists (APL) and configuration worthy equipment is extracted and research conducted utilizing naval and commercial databases such as Haystack, Technical Document Management Information System (TDMIS), Fleet Modernization Program Management Information System (FMPMIS) to determine parts, technical manuals, Allowance Parts List (APL), Planned Maintenance System (PMS), Test Equipment (TE), training and other Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) product data and as appropriate loaded those records as type 2s, type 3s and type 4s.

In support of the Naval Systems Engineering Drawings Repository(NSEDR) project working as the Help Desk Manager I took trouble tickets from incoming emails and disseminated to appropriate personnel for action. This included verification of the data as presented in the email tickets and performing front end research to expedite the processing of the issue for faster turn-around. My job was to locate, scan, print, and upload drawing to NSEDR as they were requested and issued to me for processing which involved extensive coordinated efforts from multiple sources. I performed duties of mail processor which involved taking incoming request for products to be sent to various locations worldwide, packaging them in accordance with navy postal regulations for delivery. This included picking up incoming mail from the post office to be disseminated to the addressee. I assisted with the distribution of office supplies to customers from a centrally located storeroom located in Code 283 on an as needed basis.

Maintained the Organizational Maintenance Management System database of over 150,000 entries systematically validating all ship systems and equipment identifying logistics support requirements for validated equipment documenting deficiencies ensuring 100 percent compliance with the organization requirements for over 100 workcenters. Trained up to 12 personnel assigned to MSC from multiple technical backgrounds and various divisions as customer service representatives to retrieve management, part/reference number, supplier, Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE), freight, Interchangeability and Substitutability (I&S) and characteristics information recorded against National Stock Numbers (NSNs) through a ship-invoked training program using logistical support reference aids such as Technical Data Management Information System (TDMIS), Technical Library Management System(TLMS), Automated Technical Information System(ATIS), Revised Alternative Dataflow(RADWeb), Ship’s Drawing Index(SDI), Federal Logistics Information Systems(FEDLOG) Coordinated Shipboard Allowance List in Microsoft ACCESS(CIA), General Distribution Allowance Parts List(GDAPL) and others required in the MSC. Customer Service personnel then pass on this information to customers during daily routine operations to ensure that all equipment onboard was properly supported and all Allowance Parts Lists(APL) were accurate prior to customers ordering repair parts. Directly responsible for the bringing USS Enterprise from a below standards evaluation to receiving an overall grade of 97.2 on its COMNAVAIRLANT Maintenance Support Center inspection
