I am an eighth generation Charlestonian who has lived in Charleston, SC all my life. Lifelong interest include local history, antiques, furniture restoration, photography and art, elder issues, natural areas, sales and customer service, and real estate (both real property and brokerage). Tourism was a very early interest as I practically grew up in a house museum (Hutton Plantation, the former home of Barbara Hutton, the Woolworth heiress). I was a tour guide at Charles Towne Landing when it was in its prime. I worked for several steamship companies and freight forwarders in the 1970's. Things I did include Operations, Container Control and Repair, and Inward Freight. I was a real estate broker for many years from 1979 in downtown Charleston and I still have an inactive Broker's License. I was caregiver and caretaker for my favorite great aunt who died at the age of 99. I am very familiar with elder issues. I was in retail with companies like Belk and Dillard's and jewelry companies like Carlyle Jewelers.
