I am a communication for social change and development practitioner with 15 years of experience in program and campaign design, management, and evaluation. I have overseen various collaborative media and research initiatives focusing on health, social, and environmental justice across the global South (South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Democratic Republic of Congo, Brazil, and India) for funders such as UNICEF, the Open Society, and the European Union.I am passionate about the craft of storytelling. I believe in the power of media, particularly radio, and podcasting, to create awareness and empathy, amplify lesser-heard voices, foster narrative change, agency, and resilience, and shift power dynamics at the local and global levels. My approach to all the work I do is values-driven and people-centered. I have worked with teams and partners across the African continent, time zones, and languages. I believe that working with culturally diverse teams is key to achieving social justice goals in today’s globalized world, and fully embracing the concept of allyship. I work actively in all my interactions, with colleagues and partners alike, at promoting equal ownership and participation. I use tools such as Human-Centered Design, community, and youth-led research, and Adaptive Implementation to support sustainable, grassroots initiatives. I have provided strategic support to grassroots organizations and social change networks across Africa. I have conducted a range of technical, thematic, and capacity-building workshops in more than 10 countries in the global South for both youth and adults in face-to-face and remote training. I have designed evidence-based social change campaigns that have triggered impact from the individual to the policy and systemic levels. I am passionate about interdisciplinary knowledge sharing, co-design, and organizational development. I have designed and implemented Theories of Change and learning journeys for various NGOs, and evaluation frameworks for dozens of programs and initiatives to help them better achieve their impact in a rights-centered manner.
