At an early age, I always knew I was interested in technology. At the age of 9, my parents bought me my first Windows XP desktop. After waiting a few months for my parents to set up my computer, I decided I will figure it out myself. After plugging in all the wires where they needed to be, it was time for the final test, will it turn on. I pressed the power button and heard the tower start running but the monitor remained black. Confused and frustrated, I made sure the wires were plugged in correctly and rechecked the box to confirm I wasn’t missing anything. Eventually, I did what any kid would do, I asked my parents. To my shock, my dad informed me the monitor was “black” because I didn’t press the power button on the monitor. I was embarrassed. From that point forward I became obsessed with double checking my work.My interest in technology only grew when I built my first desktop from scratch. It was fun and rewarding but I wanted more. I took a class on Visual Studio where I created my first “Hello World” project and later created a functioning calculator. I’ve always had an interest in hardware but found my passion in software.I now work as an Integration Engineer for Partnerize. As an integration engineer, I focus more on the technical side of affiliate marketing. In this role, I have the opportunity to meet new clients and learn about their business. With this in mind, I recommend tracking solutions to meet their business goals. I also work on support tickets which can range from clients experiencing tracking issues, optimizing clients from a 3rd party tracking solution to a 1st party tracking solution to ensure they are meeting ITP Compliance, as well as making changes to their account to meet their business objectives. One of my favorite tasks within my role is fixing tracking issues. Although it can be challenging, the excitement and pride I receive when I’m able to resolve an issue makes me feel like I’m 9 years old again helping people turn on their monitors.I continue to pursue my passion in software engineerizng. I will be working toward my Master’s degree in September 2024. In an internship I had with my college, I heavily focused on software development. Since I was able to work with other teams in different departments, I also fell in love with the data analytics. Outside of school and work, I have been teaching myself Python, SQL and Power BI. I am currently working towards transitioning into a data analyst role, where I can leverage my combined expertise in software development and data analytics to drive impactful insights.
